Sevan Deepwater Technology (DWT) has been a pioneer in floating offshore structures for two decades, serving both the oil and gas and green energy industry. Sevan DWT is fully owned by Seatrium of Singapore and is leading Seatrium’s Centre of Excellence (CoE), focusing on design and development for sustainable solutions. Seatrium has ongoing several EPC project on offshore substations and wants to engage High Voltage / Medium Voltage Engineers through Sevan DWT.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled High Voltage / Medium Voltage Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high voltage and medium voltage systems in offshore substations. This role requires extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles, offshore operations, and safety regulations.

The position will be based in one of our offices in Norway but will for an initial period of about two years be seconded entirely to Seatrium, primarily related to offshore substation EPC projects, run from Singapore. Frequent travelling to Singapore and key vendors in Europe / internationally is envisaged in this period. Following the initial period, the position will gradually be related more towards Sevan projects, like FPSO, FLNG, CCS, FOWT and floating substations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Development: Collaborate with the system supplier to create and enhance HV/MV systems and equipment, including Electrical, Protection, and SCADA components, specifically for offshore substations.
  • System Analysis: Conduct electrical calculations and perform system analysis to establish specifications
  • Compliance: Ensure that all HV/MV systems adhere to applicable safety standards and regulations.
  • Inspection and Testing: Facilitate inspections, oversee factory testing, and assist in field commissioning to evaluate the technical compliance and performance of HV/MV equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Diagnose issues and provide technical assistance to resolve challenges related to HV/MV systems.
  • Documentation: Reporting, system architecture diagrams, purchase specifications, functional descriptions, and control philosophies
  • Preventative Maintenance: Work alongside the system supplier to develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures for HV/MV systems, ensuring safety and optimal performance.

Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Experience: At least 3 ~ 5 years of relevant experience in high voltage or medium voltage engineering, preferably in an offshore environment.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, proficiency in using electrical design software.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in high voltage or medium voltage engineering are a plus.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, high voltage systems, offshore operations, and safety regulations.
  • Innovation: Ability to stay up to date with the latest advancements and best practices in HV/MV engineering.
  • Leadership: Capability to lead and mentor junior engineers and commitment to safety.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work as a team in challenging offshore environment and possess good planning, organizational, interpersonal skills with adaption to ever-changing conditions.
